This is an imperfect science.  Take the time to experiment and see what works and what doesn't.  This is a journey, with time and patience is a must. With the tiniest of pin pricks to make the image and a tripod an essential, get used to a different looking image.  I like the heaviness with the clouds and the softness in form and shape.  I have a feeling I'll be using this technique for a while yet.
